QUICKSTART TENNIS
The Grand Slam QuickStart Program is an exciting new format designed to help juniors 10 and under learn to play the game and have a great time as well! By “right-sizing” the court, racquet size, tennis balls, net height, and scoring system to match the developmental stage of juniors 10 and under, they will develop better basic skills much faster and with more confidence. Other youth sports, such as soccer and little league baseball, “right-size” and adapt as necessary; now tennis is doing the same.
Juniors ages 3-10 can start playing tennis almost immediately – even if they have never held a racquet before. In a traditional tennis lesson, juniors hit the ball and wait for their next turn in line and boredom sets in fast. Instead, QuickStart tennis helps juniors learn to rally and play real tennis games through cooperative drills, developing better athletic and coordination skills.
QuickStart, like other junior sports, focuses on the importance of play and competition. Traditional tennis programs spend years teaching prior to actual game play. Juniors want to play real tennis as soon as possible because this is what makes tennis fun! QuickStart will get juniors playing almost immediately, motivating them to improve and stay involved.
